After their 3-2 win v Newtown two nights earlier, our Ladies were looking to keep their winning start going as they travelled to Selkirk last Thursday.
Rink number 1 for Lauder was unchanged as Shackleton, Sked, Scott and Ainslie sought to continue their excellent form from their match v Newtown. They got off to a flying start picking up a 6 and a 3 in the first two ends. After 5 ends they held a 12-2 lead and were never troubled by their Selkirk opponents as they cruised to a 19-7 victory.
Lauder's 2nd rink saw one change from their opening fixture as Avril Wilson replaced Christine Elrick as she joined Rooney, Davidson and MacRae. At 7-4 up after 6 ends, the Lauder quartet looked set for a good night. Ends 7 to 10 however put paid to the visitors chances as they lost 10 shots over that period. With the loss of a further 8 shots over ends 12 to 14 they went into the last end 22-10 down and an overall defeat was on the cards. A vital 2 shots on the last, however, salvaged the match for the visitors giving Lauder the overall win by 31 shots to 29.
A good start for the Ladies who sit 3rd in the League after their first two matches.
